Disease Investigation Cell is the main center for Animal health management. Management Information System on animal health management is maintained by this cell. In addition to this, the cell has a referral diagnostic laboratory where analysis / examination of various samples are done to provide diagnostic aid to the field veterinarians for proper treatment of the animal.


The primary objective of this unit is to make an effective investigation to find the causative agent for all kinds of diseases, plan and carry out prevention and control programme for all the species.


The primary functions of this cell is to make an effective investigation, prevention and control of the diseases of livestock, poultry and pets to ensure better health coverage of the animals throughout the state. It also provide management information system report on animal health to all concerns of the Department, thus providing inputs for better planning based on farmers' need. Beside these, the DIC also imparts training of vets, paravets and provide consultancy on animal health management.
